Hiring strategy
Which recruitment service fits your MEICA hiring problem?
Permanent, contract, retained and project hiring all solve different problems. Choosing the right model at the start saves time later.

Not every hiring problem needs the same recruitment service. A permanent design engineer, a six-month commissioning contractor and a multi-site framework team are different searches with different risks.
Permanent recruitment
Permanent hiring is best when the role is part of the long-term team. The search needs to test technical fit, motivation, salary expectations, location pattern and the candidate's reason for moving.
It is rarely enough to send CVs. A good permanent search explains why the person fits the role and why the role fits the person.
Contract and interim hiring
Contract hiring is about speed and confidence. The shortlist has to be available, rate-qualified and realistic about travel, site conditions and project duration.
The risk is not just finding someone. It is finding someone who can start quickly, land inside the project team and leave clean documentation behind.
Retained search
Retained search works when the role is senior, sensitive, highly niche or business critical. It gives the search the focus it deserves: mapped target companies, direct approach, structured reporting and a committed shortlist timeline.
For roles where the market is small, retained work avoids the stop-start pattern that comes from several agencies chasing the same visible candidates.
Project and volume hiring
Project hiring needs sequencing. Which roles unlock the next stage? Which locations are hardest? Which disciplines are most scarce? A hiring plan should prioritise the bottlenecks and keep candidate communication consistent across the campaign.
That is where a specialist recruiter earns their keep: not by increasing noise, but by keeping the pipeline useful.
Start with the problem
The right model is the one that matches the hiring risk. If speed is the risk, use a contract approach. If scarcity is the risk, consider retained search. If coordination is the risk, build a project plan.
