Privacy notice

Last updated: 30 May 2026

This notice explains how Meica Link Recruitment(“we”, “us”) collects and uses your personal data, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are the data controller for the information you provide through this website.

What we collect

  • Candidates: your name, email, phone number, CV and any details you include in a cover note or application.
  • Employers: your name, company, email, phone number and the hiring requirements you share.
  • Enquiries: the contact details and message you submit through our contact form.
  • Technical data: we keep this site to essential cookies only and do not run advertising or analytics trackers.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To handle a specific application — to assess your suitability and represent you to the relevant employer. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (matching candidates to roles), and pre-contractual steps taken at your request.
  • Speculative CVs — to consider you for current and future roles. Lawful basis: your consent, which you give when you submit your CV.
  • Employer and contact enquiries — to respond to you and provide our recruitment services. Lawful basis: legitimate interests and, where relevant, steps towards a contract.

Who we share it with

We share candidate details with prospective employers only with your knowledge as part of an application. We use trusted service providers to host this site and our data, and to send email notifications; they process data on our instructions. We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it

We retain candidate data, including CVs, for 12 months from your last contact with us, after which it is deleted unless you ask us to keep it on file or we are progressing an active opportunity with you. Enquiry and contact records are kept only as long as needed to deal with your request and meet our legal obligations.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate data corrected;
  • have your data erased;
  • restrict or object to our processing;
  • data portability; and
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@meicalink.example. We will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we would welcome the chance to put things right first.

Cookies

This site uses only essential cookies required for it to function (for example, to keep the admin area secure). We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, so no cookie consent banner is required. If this changes, we will update this notice and seek your consent where needed.
